As a veteran International Private Banker, Haitham Khaled has held many prominent positions in the global banking world. Held in high regard by his clients and peers, he brings a unique dynamic to the industry with his vast global experience. Prior to launching Kanji Capital Group, Haitham held multiple senior international banking positions from New York to the Middle East in the private and investment bank at Citigroup in the U.S. and abroad. His operational efforts ranged from correspondent bank functions and USD clearing to international financial institutions allowing him to hone on his expertise in the various layers of the banking vertices.
Praised for his aptitudes and indepth knowledge, Haitham’s exceptional dedication to his clients and career has afforded him opportunities not available to most. Previously, Haitham served as Senior Relationship Manager of Private Banking & Correspondent Banking at the National Bank of the State of Kuwait New York office, where he managed the global USD clearing and trade finance for the entire group. He supervised the institutional banking credit risk aversion and compliance and worked closely with internal compliance division at the OCC to product, regional, and client risk rating across the entire book of business.
His broad appeal, authenticity, and transparency, along with his client acquisition and relationship management skills have allowed Haitham to build an invaluable Rolodex in the global community.
Haitham earned his Bachelor of Finance in Economics from Queens College of New York.
Steve has more than twenty years of experience in the industry, including senior roles with the SEC, large national law firms and 16 years as the Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer of a leading money management firm. Steve has experience advising investment advisers, hedge funds, mutual funds UCITS. He holds board positions, including the director of an Irish UCITS fund complex.
He is a contributor to the SEC's Asset Management subcommittee for Small Advisers and Funds. He is also an adjunct Professor of Law at the Cardozo School of Law. With 25 years of experience, serving as President of the state Association for conflict resolution, a federal mediator and teaching courses in the areas of negotiation and dispute.
As an industry leader and sought-after speaker with substantial experience in both the private and public sector, Steve brings unique insight and has a knack for resolving the most complex issues to elevate his clients and achieve their goals.
Daniel is the COO and In-House counsel at Kanji.
Daniel is a seasoned attorney and business executive who has advised banking, real estate and family office clients throughout the world. He has acted as counsel to U.S. presidential campaigns, UHNW individuals, and family offices. He has managed teams throughout North and Central America, Europe and Asia, and maintains many trusted relationships in these regions.
Daniel has consulted sponsors and developers in financing of more than $2 billion across the capital stack for multi-family, commercial and hospitality real estate projects across the U.S. and Caribbean. He is counted on to advise on potential investment opportunities, and structuring JV and LP agreements. He has also been a trusted advisor and board member to non-profits and family offices, sitting on audit and due diligence committees.
Daniel is the Director of Investor Relations at Kanji.
Throughout her work as a project manager, Maya established a diverse set of analytical, marketing, and leadership skills that allowed her to land the unique opportunity of working alongside the principals at Kanji Capital Group. Prior to joining the team, Maya worked as an analyst at one of the top VC firms in the city, where she identified a renter’s niche increasing market share for short-term leasing by targeting demographic through an established partnership with Airbnb. She also initiated the in-house Investor’s Newsletter keeping investors up to date on their portfolio and investment performance.
In addition, she joined the capital market and corporate banking departments at Bank Audi. She assisted the derivative, equity, and foreign exchange teams on the trading floor where she was the collaborative hands on the daily news report sent to private investors as part of the Wealth Management and Private Banking divisions.
Maya earned her bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Lebanon, eager to have a broader impact, she moved to NYC and worked as a realtor. Her exposure to the real estate market expanded her knowledge in customer insights, negotiation tactics, and effective communication skills all while maintaining an average of 5:1 deals-to-leads ratio.
She then went on to earn her master’s degree in Real Estate Development from Columbia University where she sharpened her strategic analysis and financial planning competencies.
Maya is the Engagement Manager at Kanji Capital. She is responsible for building positive relations with investors from on-going communication and pre-engagement to post-closing.
